Answer This, Part Three

Here's the "for real" follow-up question to this one I posted earlier: What is "the Gospel"?

Please leave your responses in the comments. Thanks for taking the time - I really appreciate it.

The Gospel is the sacred text recording the life, the words, and the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you look real close, you will see that Jesus is also a Dallas Cowboys fan!

The Gospel is the Good News. It is sanctification, justification, and reunion with God. It is the impartation of the Spirit of Life. It is the chance to become a new creation. The access to abundant life (not a life of abundance). It is fullness, completeness, restoration. It is the only thing that will make us purely happy. It is a connection to God, in the Spirit, through Christ. It is the greatest climax to the greatest story ever told. All that and it is free of charge and has no qualifications other than recognizing a broken heart.

The Gospel - I'm guilty as hell, thus deserving of hell. Jesus showed up, took all my guilt on himself and paid the price for it - death. But death couldn't hold him down, he came back up from the grave, kicking eternal death's butt right back to hell. Then he told me, dude, you're free, the price has been paid, you win.

The Gospel to me is this:

"It IS Finished"

This one statement of our Lord is so deep that you can NEVER get to the bottom of it. It is like the Rabbit Hole in Alice in Wonderland. Just when you think you have it nailed it gets deeper yet!
