The Gospel is the Good News. It is sanctification, justification, and reunion with God. It is the impartation of the Spirit of Life. It is the chance to become a new creation. The access to abundant life (not a life of abundance). It is fullness, completeness, restoration. It is the only thing that will make us purely happy. It is a connection to God, in the Spirit, through Christ. It is the greatest climax to the greatest story ever told. All that and it is free of charge and has no qualifications other than recognizing a broken heart.
The Gospel to me is this:
"It IS Finished"
This one statement of our Lord is so deep that you can NEVER get to the bottom of it. It is like the Rabbit Hole in Alice in Wonderland. Just when you think you have it nailed it gets deeper yet!
